PAPPU Hybrid Pallets Ltd. is an Ireland-based technology company focused on the development, protection, and commercialization of hybrid pallet solutions.
Its core activities include IP management, technology transfer support, and ongoing R&D for future manufacturing and licensing partners.
The PAPPU system is supported by a combination of patent protection strategy and proprietary manufacturing know-how developed over several years of R&D. Together, these elements create significant barriers to replication and support a differentiated market position.
Subject to the terms of the relevant agreement, PAPPU’s licensing model is designed to provide territorial protection for partners while supporting the controlled expansion of the technology across international markets.
The robotic production concept under development is engineered to support all high-volume standard pallet sizes used globally.
This includes full compatibility with EUR (1200×800), ISO (1200×1000), North American GMA (1219×1016), and Asian (1100×1100) formats,
offering the flexibility to adapt to any international market requirement.
Production capacity depends on the final line configuration, operating model, and pallet format. The current engineering concept targets an automated high-throughput process, with final output to be confirmed during industrial line design and commissioning.
The production concept is being developed for highly automated operation with limited operator intervention. Depending on the final line setup, a small team per shift may be sufficient for supervision, quality control, and operational support.
The pallet structure is built around a high-density honeycomb paper core made from recycled paper-based material, designed to deliver a strong strength-to-weight ratio with a tare weight typically in the 9.5–11 kg range.
The coating is designed to cure rapidly after application and to form a durable protective barrier around the paper core. This outer layer contributes to moisture resistance, surface durability, and suitability for demanding handling environments.
The feet and base areas are reinforced with fiber-based structural elements designed to improve durability in high-contact zones, including conveyor interfaces and other repeated mechanical handling points.
The PAPPU hybrid structure is engineered to combine low weight with high load performance. Under load, the pallet is designed to maintain structural integrity and recover its form within expected operating parameters.
The hybrid structure is designed so that localized surface damage does not automatically result in immediate full-structure failure. Actual performance will depend on the extent and location of the damage and the operating conditions.
The PAPPU platform is being developed for use in demanding industrial and regulated logistics environments. Depending on the specific configuration and validation scope, this may include applications requiring hygienic surfaces, easy cleaning, and suitability for specialized operating conditions.
PAPPU pallets can be configured with embedded RFID technology together with QR codes and barcodes, supporting identification, traceability, and integration with broader ERP and logistics systems.
PAPPU technology is designed around a separable hybrid structure intended to support material recovery at end of life. The paper-based core is designed for fibre recovery, while the outer material layer may be suitable for alternative recovery pathways depending on local recycling and waste-processing infrastructure.
The PAPPU platform is intended to address multiple market segments, including:
Final pricing will depend on format, order volume, market, and manufacturing scale.
The PAPPU Hybrid pallet is being designed for repeated-use applications, with a target design life of 35+ cycles under intended operating conditions.
PAPPU has engaged with a number of industry and technical partners across materials, recycling, automation, and industrial validation. These collaborations support the continued development, testing, and commercialization of the technology.
