PAPPU Insights – The Data-Driven Supply Chain (Week 3/5)

How tare weight slashes transport emissions by over 50%.

In logistics, every kilogram costs fuel and adds to carbon emissions. When evaluating a standard 100 km transport module by truck, the physical properties of packaging directly dictate the environmental toll.

Because the PAPPU Hybrid Pallet is significantly lighter than a wooden alternative, it delivers a 2.3-fold environmental advantage across every single transport metric per piece:

  • Climate Change: 8.50E-02 vs. 1.98E-01 kg CO eq.
  • Fossil Resource Use: 1.10E+00 vs. 2.57E+00 MJ
  • Water Consumption: 1.29E-03 vs. 3.02E-03 m³

 

  • Climate Change: PAPPU emits just 0.085 kg, compared to 0.198 kg CO eq. for wood.
  • Fossil Resource Use: PAPPU requires only 1.10 MJ of energy, vs. 2.57 MJ for wood.
  • Water Consumption: PAPPU uses approx. 1.3 liters, while wood consumes approx. 3.0 liters.

 

(In short: The PAPPU hybrid pallet cuts environmental impact by more than half across every metric.)

 

Cutting down dead weight in the supply chain is one of the most immediate ways for businesses to achieve verifiable greenhouse gas avoidance within their Scope 3 emissions.
